"POSITIVITY CAN IMPACT ALL"

Amanda Andrus, MS

Amanda has over ten years of experience in the healthcare industry working with a variety of healthcare providers. Amanda has focused her studies on nutrition earning an M.S. in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. Amanda graduated with her B.S. in Health Science from Idaho State University. To add, she earned an A.S in Medical Assisting. As a Health Coach graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she has adopted their philosophy that the foods we eat are secondary to having a satisfying career, healthy relationships, physical activity, and a spiritual practice. We are not only fed by the food we eat, but by the energetic qualities life offers.

During her studies, Amanda interned at Teton Full Circle Farm, a Certified Organic Farm practicing Biodynamic Agriculture in Victor, Idaho. Amongst her many duties on the farm, the MOST rewarding for her was cooking farm meals for the work share groups. In addition, she volunteered hours at Huidekoper Ranch in Wilson, WY who grow organic, nutritious microgreens and was an active volunteer at Slow Food in the Tetons who connect farmers to the community.

“My journey in Functional Medicine began in 2016 when I was searching for answers to manage my own personal health concerns, autoimmunity. Functional Medicine is patient-centered care. There are many aspects that contribute to an individual's overall health. Some of these include relationships, physical activity, nutrition, hydration, sleep, stress (emotional, mental, physical), and environmental exposures. By evaluating each person as a unique bio-individual, a therapeutic food plan and lifestyle modifications are tailored to address root causes. The gut, the largest immune organ and an active player in detoxification, lies at the center of human health.”

Idaho grown, you can find Amanda snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. She enjoys all things food including cooking, gardening, and foraging some wild edible plants. She has two boys and values her close circle of family and friends.
